Acid Acetic 99.9%

Chemical formula: C 2 -H 4 -O 2
Acetic acid analysis: 99% purity

Other Letters : Ethanoic Acid, Ethyl Acid, Methane Carboxylic Acid, Vinegar, Vinegar Acid (Vinegar Ink)

Acetic acid has a sour taste, similar to vinegar. This substance is one of the organic acids.

What is acetic acid?

It is one of the minerals belonging to the group of acids and except for carboxylic acids and is known as ethanoic acid in the name of Iupac. Its use in chemistry dates back to ancient times. In 1847, the German chemist Hermann Kolb first made acetic acid from minerals.

Vinegar yeast bacteria are known for their tendency to produce acetic acid. These bacteria are found in food, water and soil. Acetic acid is naturally produced from fruits and some foods spoiled by the fermentation process and is one of the oldest known chemical compounds in humans.

In its pure state, it is a colorless liquid with a sharp odor, a corrosive and flammable liquid. The material freezes at 16.6 ° C.

Vinegar is produced by the process of fermenting foods containing starch, sugar, and alcohol by the yeast bacteria (vinegar baby). Fruits such as apples, grapes, and grains such as barley are commonly used to make vinegar.

Vinegar usually contains acetic acid with a volume weight of 4 to 8%.

Applications and uses:

In the production of vinyl acetate, ethyl acetate, solvents, textiles, vinegar is used as a food seasoning and in the preparation of various pickles. Dilute acetic acid is used as a spray to kill plant fungi. Glacial acetic acid is used in the chemical industry in the production of photographic films, the production of polyethylene triphthalate (PET) plastics. It is also used as an intermediate in the production of vinyl acetate, which is an important compound in the production of adhesives and paints, and as a solvent in the production of synthetic aromatic substances.

safety tips :

Concentrated acetic acid is a corrosive substance. In contact with the skin, it causes chemical burns of the skin and blisters. If it comes in contact with the eyes, it can cause serious damage to the eyes. Inhalation of concentrated vapor can cause burning in the mouth, nose and throat. Although vinegar is a harmless liquid, drinking glacial acetic acid is dangerous and can cause severe ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract and may cause serious damage to human health by altering blood acidity.
